Cinema 4D Text Demo

I made this quick test video last night in the Cinema 4D Demo using MoText with an animated PolyFX and a Random effector on both the PolyFX and the vertical position of the MoText letters. I’m also trying out a new HTML5 video plugin for WordPress below.

Movie Theater Employee Clothes

I went back and modeled a collared shirt, vest, and bowtie for this character that I made back in Spring 2010.

Teeth Base Mesh

This week I modeled a simple humanoid base mesh and a set of teeth in Maya for the purpose of speeding up the process of character design in ZBrush. Here’s a render of the teeth.

I started blocking out an SSS shader for the gums. But that might be getting ahead of myself, so I’ll post that later, either when I get it looking correct or when the teeth are part of a character that’s in the texturing phase.

ZBrush Head Sculpt

I’m still pretty new to ZBrush, but I think I’m starting to get the hang of it. I’ve been practicing with head sculpting. Here’s one that I spent a few hours on last night. Nothing special, but I thought it was decent enough to post. I started with a sphere for the head and used ZSketch for the hair.

Gas Mask Model WIP

My first shot at modeling a Russian gas mask in Maya.
I laid out the UVs for the actual mask part and may still texture it and/or sculpt in some details in ZBrush.

Spambot

Wizard Painting

I painted this with oil paint on 24″ x 30″ canvas.
It’s based on idea I had for an animation where a wizard is trying to teach a kid how to make fire with his hand.

Typographic Self Portrait

Created in Adobe Illustrator CS3. I used mostly things that I’m interested in for the text.

Monster Concept

I finally got around to customizing a Sandbox WordPress child theme, so now I’m ready to start blogging! I’ll be updating this mostly with work-in-progress so that you can see the process and development stages and also make comments and critiques on here before projects are finished.

Here is my monster character concept art from the end of the summer. He still needs some design adjustments, so I’ll be revisiting this guy later before I try modeling him.
